Shaping up...

Things are finally starting to shape up here..at least in the yard.   Remember our jungle we had out front? The one that was full of poison ivy? Well, as you may recall, we ripped all that out, but we still  had the roots. This past weekend, my dh dug a trench around them, then our oldest son came out with his truck and pulled them out. Also out front, we have/had 3 large trees...3 large ugly trees..well, the middle 1 is now cut down. With what started as just trimming the dead stuff off turned into, "well, let's just cut it all down". With the wood from the tree, we stacked it all out back to eventually burn in the fire-pit that my dh made for us to enjoy, :)   Also this past weekend, we started getting our garden area ready...we are borrowing my parents roto-tiller, while it's not the biggest around, it sure beats doing it all by hand, :)

I have been looking at so many "pins" on Pinterest that I'm getting so many wonderful ideas as to what I would like to get done in the yard. They probably won't get done, at least all of them, this year, but eventually it'll get there.

We are still looking for a church home. I know that Heavenly Father will guide us into the direction that He wants us to go, in the meantime I'm learning patience, :)

Does it exist?

Sigh...we've been searching out a home church for quite sometime and just haven't found "the one".  Maybe we've set too high of a bar as to what we're looking for?

What we're looking for:

1. A church that isn't full of gossipers. I know every church is going to have some, however, it shouldn't be to the place where if I put up a quote by let's say, Mother Theresa, on facebook that the church people start saying we're going Catholic.

2. A church that isn't going to think badly upon us if we drink a beer, or have a glass of wine. I'm not saying going out to the bar and getting drunk. But staying at home, sitting by the firepit and have a glass of wine.

3. A church that isn't going to put down or belittle other churches or peoples beliefs.

4. A church that isn't going to harp on paying a tithe. We totally believe in giving to the church, but it seems as though many churches are so money hungry these days. And what really bothers us is that we see so many people giving so much to the church that they have lost their homes, or can't afford to heat their home in the winter, but yet the Pastor is able to take his family on a 2 week vacation to Disney World. Not saying that because of peoples giving they have lost their home, or didn't pay their heat..however, I feel that the church needs to help others out, and not just pad the Pastors pocket.

Maybe we're too picky. I don't know.......

Analogy

I've been thinking lately. If a person is looking for a car, let's say they are wanting a Ford, would this person go to a Chevy dealership to do adequate research on a Ford? This person has some mechanical questions, so should they inquire of the mechanic at the Chevy dealership? Though the mechanic will quickly let you know that he has had X amount of years of training, some of which are college course, and some of them are special classes available only to Chevy mechanics. Would you be getting the whole truth of a Ford? Or would you be getting a one-sided opinion from a Chevy mechanic and dealer? I think we all know the answer to that one: the Chevy dealer and mechanic are going to tell you all the bad things about a Ford, and why you shouldn't go with that, more than likely telling you some pretty anti things about Fords.

So my friends, why is it that people like to say anti things about other faiths. If you wanted the truth of let's say the Catholic church, would you go to a Methodist church and inquire there. If you wanted the truth of the Mormon faith, would you listen to a Baptist minister. Now remember, these ministers have had years of training, classes, and college. But does this make them the authority of a different faith? Absolutely not! But yet these minsters will often times tell you that this faith believes this, or this faith believes that, do not be deceived my friends. If you want the truth, go to the source! Often times the minister will tell you he is speaking the truth, yes the "truth" of what he learned in classes, by professors or books that are not of that faith that you are researching. Think about it!

Crazy weather!

Here in Indiana, we have been having a rather mild winter (not that I'm complaining). Last week, we had gotten snow that wound up cancelling schools in the area, and now today it is 53 out, very gusty, but it's to turn colder this afternoon and tomorrow's high is to be only in the 20's! This morning, I was woken up to it lightening and thundering and just pouring down rain. Normally I like rain, I find it very soothing, but in the new house since we had septic work done, the rain turns the backyard into a huge mud pit, which equals to some very muddy dogs! I'm so thankful that the backdoor leads to the laundry room where I have a laundry tub that has a sprayer nozzle on it so I'm able to put a dog in the tub and get them washed down before allowing them to roam through the rest of the house.  Here is a picture of 1 of our dogs:

Ellie Mae
That is Ellie Mae. She is a blue gotti pitbull. We have had her since she was 5 days old. She is the most loving and yet protective dog. She is 6 months old, and is the worst at getting into the mud! lol  Before too long I won't be able to lift her into the tub, :)

Blessings to you all!

I love it!

We are in our "new" house now, we moved in sometime in November. I absolutely love it! We still have the upstairs to complete and in time we will get it done. I'm so looking forward to spring so we can landscape the yard and get the garden going, and getting the clothes line up...I love hanging some clothes outside! There are some things that I don't hang outside, but the main things that I do hang out are jeans and bedding.

We still have our other house in town, and I think we already have somebody wanting to buy it on contract.

I'm feeling so very blessed! Pictures coming soon! :)
