Slowly, but surely...

More on the house we bought:

When we bought the house, we noticed that the living room walls had been spackeld, making it a rough texture. We assumed it was supposed to be like that. So myself and our 3rd son, Caleb, began painting the walls...what works that is! However we have realized that we were supposed to scrape the walls..UGH!! So now, we're scrapping the walls and re-painting!

Yesterday, we ( myself and 4th son, Benj) went out to the house to rip some bushes out. These bushes, as I refer to as "the jungle", have been neglected for years and have like morphed into each other. Hubby wants to keep them and trim them up...I voted no...and convinced him that some of them have to go..he agreed, :) So off we went to the house with my Dad's truck and a chain, hoping to rip them out...but my Dad's truck is a S-10..not enough giddy up to get 'er done. So we cut them down. Looks much better! Now hubby gets to trim the others, which we have agreed that if they look dumb then they get ripped out too! (I'm secretly hoping they look like crap and I get to remove them, hehe)

In other news, Jon, our oldest son, left yesterday for Iowa. He was home for a week and I so enjoyed having him near. He got a job back in October working as a helper for a welding company, this current job he has taken is going to have him on as a welder. Since October, he has been working in Mississippi, Texas, Ohio and Tennessee. I'm so proud of him for getting this job but it's hard on my heart when he leaves.

Time to switch the laundry loads and do some reading (more on that later). Have a wonderful day!
